Anger:
an emotional reaction characterized by extreme displeasure, rage, indignation, or hostility. It is considered to be of pathologic origin when such a response does not realistically reflect a person's actual circumstances.
Anger is a normal, healthy response in some situations. However, when anger becomes out of control, it ceases to be a healthy response. One sign that anger is a problem is when it occurs in a situation where it's not a reasonable response. If you have a tendency to become angry (or much angrier) than the majority of other people would in the same situation, you might have an anger problem. If you become physically violent with people when you become angry, you also need to seek help.
In children and teenagers, sometimes depression is expressed in other ways. Rather than being an anger issue, outbursts of anger can be a sign of depression. If your child or teen appears to be struggling with anger, or if you are having a problem with anger, call 770-386-0776 or CLICK to send an email requesting an appointment with one of our counselors.
